first day reflection

I find this project to be very interesting. Beforehand i was into photoshopping and graphic designing. I would say i am a good drawer thus it was pretty okay for me to catch up with. I thought Photoshop was just a simple software that enable you to combine photos. make a bit of changes and so on. But today i learnt that Photoshop, is almost infinite. i learnt to use different variety of tools and ways to approach problems in an easier methods. I also learnt  to make use of "masks" "layers" "clipping" and many other such flitering and so on. overall i enjoyed this project very much and it enabled me to futher enrich my art, design and photo skills.

1st day,
Took a picture in Green Screen Studio and have my photo taken.
Briefing on some of the photoshop concept and ideas
started on the project .

2nd day,
Touch up on the final projects and some minor changes and improvement.
Review on everyone's projects and feedback on how we can improve them.
I learnt that getting an opnion from others is important. Not just because u can get their ideas but also their point of view ( audience point of view ) Like Pro. Martin said when u are do something and u are looking at the same thing by yourself for a long time. we tend to miss s

Final reflections Max

Day 1

The editing part of the project sounds interesting to me, and I think I can learn many skills that I can use in my future ADMT projects.

Day 2
We edited our photos further and learnt many effects that can be used. I learnt how to change the saturation  of my image and how to make it look realistic. The project has showed me that concentration plays a big part in editing photos. It can be also used in my studies as while studying, we need to be focused. I feel that our professor is kind and lends us a helping hand whenever we need assistance in our photo editing. Overall, I gained lots of knowledge and had fun here.

Post-Activity Reflections - Kai Cheng

Overall, I found this project, although it was considerably tough, a fun and interesting one. Its not everyday one gets the opportunity to learn how to use Photoshop.
There were many difficult obstacles that I had to overcome in this project. One example would be the masking of the layer. At first, I did not even understand the concept of what a mask was, but gradually, with the instructors guide and British accent, I was able to grasp the concept, that a mask was just a non-destructive eraser.
I have also gained experience and knowledge through this exposure with digital painting. Initially, the ITC lessons we had at school barely skimmed across the surface of Photoshop, teaching us the bare basics. But this project has give me a chance to delve deeper in this art. This knowledge can definitely be put to use in many situations when I grow up, even if I do not become a digital artist.
In conclusion, SST has given me the chance to learn about things outside of the textbook, exposing me to another subject that few students my age do, and I am very grateful for this.

What Happened:
Day 1 - One the first day, we had a short lesson about the basics of Photoshop and chose our project, what we wanted to do. After that, we took our photos and began Photo-shopping.
Day 2 - The next day, we went to complete and wrap our project up, as well as prepare for the presentation and the reflections.

Post Activity Reflections [sean]

How do I feel about today's activities
This was one of the most enjoyable school projects/camps I've ever had the opportunity in participating in and I've really learned a lot in an area that I've always been interested and love and enjoy.

From masking to creating shadows and god rays, I'm in awe of Prof. Martin who I'm sure is a modern day wizard in disguise.

Thank you SST for giving me this opporunity to learn photoshop in a very fun and handson manner and these skills definetly go a long way in poster design for ISS etc, for future jobs when creating brochures or just for fun :D

What did you do today ?
1st day:
We visited the green screen room where we were tasked with taking a picture and editing it later, where we are potrayed either flying or as a superhero. I chose flying and after taking our picture we headed back to the workroom to work  on the picture.

2nd Day- Touched up the picture and made final edits.

What did I learn through all the days ?
I learned how to manipulate photos using software like photoshop.
This consists of many areas, ranging from masking, clipping, creating shadows and so many more.
In addition, I sort-of know and have a rough idea of how a green screen room works and what happens behind the scenes of a photoshoot which was REALLY interesting.

Max reflections

I learnt a lot more about photoshop over the past two days, learning more than I had knowledge of before. We were able to use a Wacom Cintiq to assist us, which helped a lot. Our professor lent a helping hand whenever we needed help.
