Overall, I found this project, although it was considerably tough, a fun and interesting one. Its not everyday one gets the opportunity to learn how to use Photoshop.
There were many difficult obstacles that I had to overcome in this project. One example would be the masking of the layer. At first, I did not even understand the concept of what a mask was, but gradually, with the instructors guide and British accent, I was able to grasp the concept, that a mask was just a non-destructive eraser.
I have also gained experience and knowledge through this exposure with digital painting. Initially, the ITC lessons we had at school barely skimmed across the surface of Photoshop, teaching us the bare basics. But this project has give me a chance to delve deeper in this art. This knowledge can definitely be put to use in many situations when I grow up, even if I do not become a digital artist.
In conclusion, SST has given me the chance to learn about things outside of the textbook, exposing me to another subject that few students my age do, and I am very grateful for this.
Day 1 - One the first day, we had a short lesson about the basics of Photoshop and chose our project, what we wanted to do. After that, we took our photos and began Photo-shopping.
Day 2 - The next day, we went to complete and wrap our project up, as well as prepare for the presentation and the reflections.
